A Soulful Night in queens with mia jae

Mia Jae is a vocal powerhouse, thoughtful storyteller, and proud Leo. Born and raised in in New York City, Mia Jae has been releasing music and crafting her neo-soul, new age r&b sound since her 2018 single "Better Man". Since then, she has released an EP Couples Therapy and her debut album Midnight in Monte Carlo, along with a collection of singles on healing, female empowerment, and working through all emotions -- good and bad.

On March 20th, I was lucky to see the lovely Mia Jae perform at Grey Studios in Long Island City, Queens. Opening for her was Via Deroche, a Brooklyn-based singer and songwriter who performed a wide selection of music including some of her first releases, new selections, and a beautiful Yebba cover. The environment was warm and inviting, and allowed for both artists to interact with the audience during their sets. Mia Jae was accompanied by her three-piece band as they played through her varied discography, including some unreleased music. Mia Jae took complete control of the stage, incorporating crowd work and talking the audience through her songwriting process. The crowd was engaged and in awe of the talent of these artists and I left feeling incredibly inspired!
